This expansive half-day workshop is chock full of ideas and ÒtoolsÓ drawn from all of Martha's individual workshop offerings; spicing up arrangements, playing blues on the lever harp, getting comfy with improv, singing, songwriting, performance skills, groovinÕ rhythms and more. Participants explore how to vary and add zest to arrangements, as well as delve into the wonderful world of improvisation. Creating and performing memorable shows will be part of the workshop. Gettin' down and dirty, playing the blues on lever harp is fun, even if you're not a blues fan. It's exciting and fulfilling to bring forth your own song that for many is just busting to get out! These tools and techniques are fun and incredibly useful for both those who play out in public and those who enjoy playing for themselves. These concepts can be applied to all kinds of music. Participants are encouraged to let Martha know in advance what they'd like to explore. Martha will share one of her compositions and use it to put to use the techniques, tools and ideas that are covered in the workshop, so people will have a new piece of music, ready to go, to take with them. Participants will take home lots of new things to incorporate right away into their own music as well as things to explore over time. This is a great opportunity to delve into all kinds of harpish delights and expand your harp horizons! Bring harps; all levels welcome.
