harp as spiritual practice
A Beautiful and Unique Retreat

You practice, play, study, create, share. And yet you keep having this feeling that there’s something more, that something is missing…

Perhaps what is missing is a different kind of practice; spiritual practice.

During this contemplative retreat we will gently explore our relationship with our harp and our music. We unfold ways to enrich this relationship, transforming it into a nourishing spiritual practice.

Envision This

Transform your playing, practicing, creating, performing into a practice that deepens your connection with self, harp, music and with Divine Mystery.

The elements of spiritual practices that we’ll explore are not from any one religion, but rather are central in belief systems, religions, and spiritually-centered explorations across the globe, spanning centuries.

And we’re also not talking about “religious” music. We’re not talking about any specific music at all, at any specific experience level. Rather, this is all about how we approach, dance with, immerse ourselves in; how we “be” in and on our journey of playing the harp as an essential element of our life’s spiritual journey.

Like any spiritual practice, it is indeed a journey. And any worthy spiritual journey invites spiritual growth, opening us more deeply to our gifts, our talents and our connection with the sacred.

On A Personal Note: I’ve fallen absolutely in love with harp as spiritual practice. I don’t know just when I started falling, but it’s been going on for quite some time, unfolding organically in my life. It has opened me to playing, practicing, creating and performing in different and wondrous ways. Now it’s time to share! ~ Martha

The Retreat Center

Trinity Retreat Center is a spacious and beautiful spiritual center located in western CT., on the Housatonic River. The Main Building, where our retreat takes place, is very "harp friendly", with wide hallways, a spacious octagonal room for our gatherings, a lovely stone chapel (attached to main building) with Compline services each evening (optional), a large, light dining room, with an in-house chef serving mostly local, organic foods, a large and comfy communal living room with fireplace, several small reading rooms and libraries. Oh, and a donkey sanctuary!

Retreat vs. Workshop

This gathering is a spiritual retreat, is not a technique or repertoire workshop.

We will explore creativity, music and spirituality with our harps and our music but please note that this is not a “do, do, doing” workshop disguised as a retreat.

This is an invitation into a time of respite; being consciously and more deeply in connection with self, harp, music and spirit.
