Many of us who play the harp have played spiritual music, played in spiritually-centered
settings, and often felt a closer connection with Mystery when we do.
And that is beautiful.
Imagine engaging with all aspects of the harp as spiritual practice; from practicing to
performing, from tuning to improvising, from changing a string to sight reading. Every
aspect of engagement with the physical harp itself to the beautiful music that arises
from the instrument, and all the wonderful as well as seemingly inconvenient and pesky
aspects in between. All as spiritual practice!
Join me at the beautiful Trinity Retreat Center
in West Cornwall, CT. Our private retreat will be held in the spacious and light-filled
Octagon Room, on the first floor looking out over the grounds and river, just down the
hall from rooms.

“Retreats offer “time out of time” experiences. They are
gifts of time and space we give ourselves, that also then benefit all those whose lives
we touch with our presence and music.”
~ Martha Gallagher
Please Note: This retreat is not centered on “religion”. The elements of spiritual
practices that we will explore are central in belief systems, religions, and spiritually-centered
practices across the globe, spanning centuries.
This retreat is not about playing “religious” music either. I’m not talking about any specific
music at all, at any specific experience level. Rather, this is all about how we approach
and immerse ourselves in our relationship and connection with our harp and music as integral
elements of our spiritual journey.
Like any spiritual practice, it is indeed a journey. And any worthy spiritual journey
invites spiritual growth, as well as opening us more deeply to our gifts and talents.
While we cannot possibly explore, in just a few days, all the facets that make up rich
spiritual practices, we will gather jewels that nurture, nourish, and fill us with joy,
creating the foundation on which can continue to build and sustain our journey of harp
as spiritual practice.
