The Invitation
You practice, play, study, create, share. And yet you keep having this feeling that there’s
something more, that something is missing…
Perhaps what is missing is a different kind of practice; spiritual practice!
This is an invitation into a time of respite - a mini retreat; an invitation info being
This is your invitation into a time of retreat; an invitation to more consciously and
more deeply connect self, harp, music and spirit.
The Contemplative Way of Improvisation
This virtual retreat offers the time and space to explore the art of improvisation as a contemplative spiritual practice.
It’s not uncommon to feel anxious and uncertain about the idea of the “unknown” and that is how we often see
improvisation - as unknown. Especially if we have spent our time learning the harp by
playing only what’s written on the page.
However, when embraced as a spiritual practice, improvisation becomes a way to journey
through and discover music we didn’t know was within us, moving through us. It becomes a
deepening, enriching and yes, fun adventure.
We’ll unfold and savor what improvisation can look, feel, sound like; what it can be as
an essential, enriching facet of our harp journey, interwoven into our life’s spiritual journey.
Like any spiritual practice, it is indeed a journey. And any worthy spiritual journey
invites spiritual growth, opening us more deeply to our gifts, our talents and our connection
with the sacred.
