HOME: SONGS, SOUNDS & STORIES

I am honored and delighted to have received an SCR Individual Artist Grant for my multi-disciplinary project Home: Songs, Sounds & Stories, to create new music, enriched with the use of recorded sounds and shared stories around the them of “home.”

Through newly created songs, recorded sounds gathered in my home and remembered stories, I explore the concepts - and places - of “home”; global, local, communal and personal, and draw together the questions of what does “home” mean, look like, sound like - and what are some of the stories that emerge from home?

In several uplifting programs of music, musings, memories and more, the new works, along with previously created “home” songs and stories of mine, will be shared.

Two in-person programs - more living room-style gatherings than formal performances - will take place in Feb. 2026. One virtual program will also take place. Each program is approx. 60 min. in length and are free and open to all. Most suitable for adults and teens.

This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.
